Default Sourcing an LS b18, options?

hello HT, just wanted to see if i could get some opinions here-

i recently acquired a clean '92 Si shell and so i need to snag a motor for it. i've pretty much already decided on going with a b18b, i already have the right shift linkage, throttle cable, etc. so i thought it would be the right choice.

my question is, what do YOU think the best option for sourcing one is? it seems like it is really hard to be sure on a motor when buying locally and they often come with more miles (plus the potential of being stolen unless you have a way to verify this), but you often get them at a much better price.

jdm seems a little more appealing to me as of now, i pay a premium i guess but its a low mileage, non stolen and 100 percent guaranteed motor.

what are your thoughts? is it worth it to take more of a gamble locally or would you just go jdm if you were in this position?
