Default which sounds/is overall better

so out of the following which is the best?? consider the amount of the swap, power of swap, and difficulty of the swap. im a fan of most honda motors....if you guys have a better idea of what motor to swap...let me know!! thanks

car: 1993 honda civic cx hatch
budget: cheap as possible but want major hp gains
current motor: d15b8 (1.5L non vtec-8 valve head rated at 70hp)

swap ideas

motor: k20 (197 hp out of 06 civic si)
price: 1800
needed after motor: mounts, wiring bullshit, alot of work that im not 100%on, and
some dear sweet time!!
reason i want this: not every hatch has a k20!!, good power and torque, low miles
(0 to be exact)
downsides: expensive swap, alot of people dont kno how to do them, new motors
(not alot of info on them)

motor: d16y8
price: $550 for full swap
needed after motor: obd-2 to obd-1 conversion harness, wiring up vtec ??
reason i want this: cheap, decent hp (about 110....still alot better than 70!! lol)
and has vtec, i can boost it alot sooner than wit a k20 or gsr since im gettin
it so cheap
downsides: 108k on motor, not as much power as i want, sohc instead of dohc,
popular swap

motor: h22a4
price: expensive....all i kno
needed after motor: hybrid intake and exhaust manifold, mounts, obd-2 to obd-1
conversion harnesss, maybe other pieces
reason i want this: mean-*** vtec kick!! lol, good power (200hp), good torque,
****** durable motors,
downsides: expensive for swapping, no room in engine bay, pretty difficult swap
from what ive heard, if you want to boost it--build bottom end from what
i have also heard

motor: b18b (ls)
price: cheap compared to k20 and h22
needed after motor: not alot, if anything
reason i want this: mean boost motor, can hold beatsly amounts of boost, pretty
cheap (if i could find one)
downsides: pretty torqueless unless boosted, not alot of power for a b-series,
cant find one with good mileage and cheap enough (most go for about 1400)

so lets have your opinion on which one of these would be best. i dont really have a strict budget....thats what loans are for!! lol so give honest opinons...and are there any more good motors i could swap into my hatch?? thanks.

Don't forget... 0 miles on the moat-r!

k swap will cost ~$10,000
I have an extra b18b1. 40,000 miles, it's very clean.

if you want to stay cheap and boost, go with the Y8, slap a Z6 head on it, boost it be done with it.. i had just over 140,000miles on my Z6 and just pulled the motor at 178,000, no because it blew, because i wanted more power, and am building the D.

If you want wicked fast, but expensive go K20, then boost it, dont listen to the other guys there is no way in hell a K swap will cost 10grand, 5 maybe, then probly another 5 to boost, thus equaling 10 grand, but the swap alone no way, all depends on where you look for the motor.

Over all i would stick with the D, but i am biased only because i have a D and it has not let me down, no matter how much i beat the crap out of it, i mean i put it through hell. 2 quarts low on oil with the turbo, yeah, pulled the motor, absolutly nothing wrong, all the cross hatch was still there, no detonation, just beauty.

Good luck with whatever it is you do, and keep us posted and the new project when ever it may start.

You are absolutely insane. K20a2 is about $4000 alone. Mounts are ~$650. Kpro and ecu $1200. Tuning from scratch $500. Axles. Shift linkage. Wiring. Fuel. OBD problems.

Look up a quality turbo kit for a k-series once and you'll see they are about $5k alone (Full-Race, PeakBoost). Maybe $3500 for TN and $2750 for Greddy. More tuning.

ive done alot of research on this, two guys i work with are going to be doing this swap, spent alot of my time at work looking up the motor and trans combo, i have yet to find anything over 3500 for it. gotta love working at one of the largest automotive companies in the world though. also the turbo setup, we like to piece everything together, instead of buying a kit, im not gonna say you are wrong, there swaps are expensive as ****, and to boost on top of it, you are gonna spend some serious money.

Even if the a2 is $3500, you still have another $5000 to buy in other parts/services. And even if you could somehow do the whole swap for $5000 doesn't mean the OP can.

i knew there was a catch....

the engine, tranny, and ecu + is around 5-6 grand.

still gotta add custom motor mounts for your car, axles, tuning, the adaptor for the shifter (depending on the car), custom header, intake, exhaust, etc.

oh im not disagreeing with you guys K swap is a lot of money, then to boost on top of it, even more money, anyway kinda off topic, the OP asked what to do, well then i ask this question what kind of power are you looking to get both now and then possibly later??
