something that confused me
i didnt know which forum to post this in so i just posted it in the forum i usually post in 
me and my friends where talking and one asked me "when you install a hondata chip in say a b18c and move vtec to engage at instead of say 5700rpms to 4000rpms how does vtec hit just as hard if you move it to hit earlyer?" i could not explain it to him and i felt like i didnt know about hondas so could you guys help me out and tell me how this is possible

ugh
i guess ill take this one
first, a gsr's vtec turns on at 4400. not 5700.
second hondata is a completley programable ecu
meaning you could set vtec to 1000 if you wanted. but it will make the car run like ***.
vtec will not "hit as hard" if you move it earlier in the rpm band unless you move the fuel curve with it. but honda put vtec where its at for a reason. power matched with economy.
i wouldnt reccomend moving it untill you have major headwork and good cams.
