Someone MIGHT know this one....*VIDEO INCLUDED*
A long *** time ago I posted about a sorta rolling vibration I was getting in my engine at really low, constant rpms, and when I'm taking off from a stop through about 3,500 rpms....well after a while I sorta forgot about it, cause I guess it kinda went away. If my memory is correct, it kinda went away after I changed my power steering belt. Well anyway, my stupid *** power steering belt would squeak anytime it rained or was damp out. So the other day I finally got around to tightening her up....So now the belt no longer squeaks, but that sound is back!! Grrrrrr..... So it has to be something coming from the power steering pulley/pump/tensioner I would think. Anyway, I wanted to repost the video's I shot a long time ago and see if anybody else has any ideas what it could be. These are about 18mb a piece, so if you're on dialup, good luck

wow 59 seconds to download, high speed ownzzz!
I would say that is either a crazy valvetrain noise or maybe the bearing for the power steering unit is gone. When you tighten the belt it puts more stress on the bearing in one direction and therefore more noise??

what is the mileage on the motor? the belt could be stretched. did you just change your timing belt? if you did then the belt is too loose or too tight. too loose the belt with hit the cover. too tight the belt will make noise like a bad bearing. also check for loose exhaust manifold cover.

I've checked all that....it was making that sound way back last year, so I decided to change the timing belt (which turned out to be brand new anyway), and it still made the sound. Then I eventually changed the power steering belt and the sound went away, but it squeaked when it rained. So I tightened if up some more, and now the sound is back.
So I don't think its mani-cover, or timing belt....I suppose the bearing in the pump or pulley could be bad....any other ideas?

when you had the cover off for the timing belt did you notice anything that looked wrong near the block? i had a stock honda motor that made that noise, i had coolent corosion all over the place, think the head is your problem. good luck, but i say you swap it anyhow

you know after i looked at the second video. you have the same corrosion near the top of the timing belt cover, check to see if it goes all the way down past the head?
