Sohc Vtec
Hey guys...I'm in an ongoing argument AT THE MOMENT.
I don't have time to search soooo...
When does sohc vtec engage on the y8 motor?
I'm saying 5400 or 5500... ?
And I'm a firm believer that if you listen you can hear it engage on an UNMODIFIED engine...Because I can hear mine engage with no intake or exhaust... ???
Thanks in advance....

lol you dont have to boost it to hear it.. just an intake will make it sound better.. but like jdmfantasy said.. its really nothing special until you at least build it

First of all, You were there when all of that happened, so you have a natural disposition toward me, and secondly, I like it. Hater-tech FTWWWWW
And I know when it engages on mine...but I jut want to be sure...because I know stock tachs can be off slightly. I know its nothing speacial...but we're arguing about it...SO I NEED TO KNOW ...

Re: Sohc Vtec (:Andrew)
you are right it engages at 5500, if it engaged any lower your engine wouldnt make use of the lower end torque for quicker acceleration *****

Yeah i just meant that SOHC vtec is kind of useless unless you got some good mods done. And yes you can hear it with an Intake.
