so i feel dumb
so i've got a B18C1 with a B16 head (aka poor man type r)
but i want to buy a 96 spec ITR motor and will this basicly bolt int with my OBDI harness?
i have a 95 Civic? and do the 96spec ITR's have 32mm axles?

you should be able to use the same harness along with the obd1 ecu w/ the 96 spec itr swap.. if you want to use the obd2a itr ecu then you will need an obd1 to obd2a jumper harness. if you are sticking with your 4 lug or ctr 5 lug then you will continue to use your 32mm axles, if you are going w/ or already have an itr 5 lug conversion then you will use 36mm axles. hope this helps you on your new build.. GOOD LUCK!

2. if you use an obd1 ecu then you need to have it chipped and mapped with an ITR rom. Or you can get a conversion harness and run a obd2 p73.
3. only jdm (5-lug) itr have 36mm axles
4. IMO you should stick with the engine you have, put the money towards parts.
EDIT:
5. you should change the thread title to describe your question better

i agree, even if you're getting a "hook up" on this ITR, your money is better invested in the c1 thats ALREADY in your car. Hold what ya got man.

Re: so i feel dumb
no a b16 tranny open diff
see but to get everything to a itr it really doesn't save you any money because if i buy a whole new motor i can sell the one i have for say 2k then there is half my money back and guess what i have everthing i wanted for less

Re: so i feel dumb
does my idea make sense? 4k for the ITR swap form Hmotorsonline
sell my swap for 2k
so the total swap only costs me like 2k and its a stock motor which will be alot more reliable then any motor i could put together

Bump, as far as harnesses go, your harness will be plug and play at the shock towers (reguardless of odb2, injectors, harness, ect. ). if you have an odb1 harness, use an odb1 vtec dizzy, odb2 harness/odb2 dizzy. just be sure to grab an odb1 gsr or b16 ecu.

Re: so i feel dumb
not necessarily. it depends if they are obd1 or obd2
you need to match the dizzy to the engine harness, you have an obd2 engine harness so you will need an obd2 dizzy. obd1 ecu. if you want to do something differently then you will need adapters harnesses.

ok so if you do the type-r swap then the dizzy wont plug into your engine harness. you can get a new dizzy, get the rywire adapter or try to rewire the plug yourself.

Re: so i feel dumb
here are the shock tower plugs, direct plug and play.
here are the distributors that are available.
**note** there is a difference in some cases between the vtec/non vtec distributors. this is just a wiring guide**
So, what you will need, an ODB1 ECU (reguardless of wiring harness, distributor, motor) and a wiring harness that matches your distributor OR a rywire converter harness so your Engine wiring harness will plug into your distributor.
