Default Snow and Light Flywheel

As winter is approaching, I came up with an interesting thought today.... I am thinking of buying a light flywheel for my daily and seeing how you have to rev it a bit more to get it going, how would this handle in the snow?? Would a 12 lb be better than say an 8 lb?? i am looking for less chance of tires breaking loose.

i've searched and haven't seen such a topic but i am beginning to wonder.......

just buy the 8lb, its not any harder to get it going. i drive mine on pretty much ice streets about every winter, and never have problems. enjoy the flywheel though

If you are worried about snow get winter tires.

I've had a 7.5# for over a year, and I don't think it's any harder to drive than stock - just a little different.

You'll get used to it.

9lb Exedy Chromolyon a 99 Si. Had snow tires on it when it was seeing winter use (stored for the past 3 winters) and it was fine.

I have an exedy organic clutch on mine, too, so basically, it's a bit jerky from a dead stop. Get in the habit of smoother clutch engagement and you'll be fine.

No biggie.

It won't be any harder or easier to play with in the snow. MAYBE different, but not harder - you'll get used to it VERY fast.

You just have to feather the clutch a little more and not let the rpms drop so quickly when easing out on the clutch. I have a 7.5lb for 40k miles now and you get used to it quickly. Driving in the snow isn't as hard as it seems
