Default Snapped a bolt, removal help

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...1.gif

On that picture, I just gave part 16 a piece of my mind and snapped the head off of it, so I have all but like 1 quart inch of it in there.

I'm wondering if I should be able to pound it out or if the fork is threaded so that I will need to drill or twist it out some how.

gimme some suggestions

I'm pretty sure that is a bolt that has a threaded bolt on the other side of the control arm. If it hasn't been threaded in at all yet you can tap it out. If not you're gonna need to buy a product called e-z out or something like that.

I'm a little confused, you're saying that the fork has threads? and the bolt itself has threads to mate to those on either end of the bolt itself? or... am I way off?

Yep. there's a nut welded to the fork on the other side. If he snapped the head off that bolt trying to get it out I'm pretty sure an easy out isn't going to be able to do it.
Just buy a whole new fork with a new bolt and call it a day. Less headache that way. Then once you get it out use a screwdriver to pry the fork open so you can get your shock out. Actually it should just slide right out since the head on the bolt is gone and there's nothing compressing the top of the fork anymore.
anyway, buy a new fork.

since the bolt and nut thats welded onto the fork is the only thing that has threads, you may be able to get an air gun and blast the nut thats tack welded on, off. I know i broke my nut off the fork with the impact gun (b4 i realized it was welded on ) without much difficulty

oh and one more thing, that goes through a bushing and is probably frozen inside of the bushing. be sure you chck that out. and you can just cut that tack-welded nut on the other side off and once you get the piece out of the bushing, go to a good hardware store and replace it with an appropriate sized grade 10 nut, bolt and washers. and yes this is fine to do bcause all it was before was a grde 10 bolt and nut with the nut welded on.

my nut isn't welded on... right now I have a headless side that I broke and some threads sticking out the other side... its just a rod with some threads in essence.

But that sucka is stuck like nobody's business, many a tool have failed in attempt to subdue its raw power. I've tried rust ease, wd-40 and brake cleaner and my chemical cocktail, I've destroyed a few drivers, skrewdrivers, and extensions trying to hammer/torque it. Should I just spend a day drilling at it at this point? any chance of me saving that stupid bushing?

you could deff. try to save that bushing, but the easyst thing at this point is to just buy a new fork, that is what i had to do to both sides of mine....

well... tonight I'm going to hammer drill my brains out and we'll see where I get; I figure its worth a shot since I can't get a new fork and all immediately.

arighty so I may be a little dense but hey, I've only got around 100 posts, so that's expected, right? I'm banking on that at least

So I've had no luck, but there has to be some way to release the force on that bolt. Its got not head and not nut, so its just a bar in there, but that bushing is mashed to the floor... at first I was thinking jack up the A arm but that's just putting more verticle force on the point I'm working at, right? Isn't there some way I can free up the rest of that stupid bolt from at least the external forces?

On the suggestion at hand, how do I remove the fork? do I need to compress the spring to free up the pressure on it? But that sounds like I'm freeing up that bold again.

Aparently I'm more needy that I ever imagined
