my car was smoking back then and thought it was the pistons rings and/or head gasket but i switched both to new ones and it is still smoking from time to time when i drive. it DOES NOT smoke consistently but it will smoke up white sometimes black smoke when im driving on the highway.. did compression test and it was fine also.. ANY IDEA would help..thx!!!

no im not losing any anti-freeze.. if it was running rich it would smell like gasoline right? the smell smells more like its burning oil lightly.. i was wondering if it could be my valve seals?

Yea, there could be trouble in the head. But three questions:
1) How much oil are you losing per oil change, if at all?
2) Are you 100% sure you're not leaking, have you checked well for oil spots on the ground, the oil pump, cam seals etc...etc.. after shut down?
3) How did your block look when you rebuilt it?
And to answer your question, running rich doesn't mean it will smell like gas. I don't think it's running rich, unless you're also losing power.

i'll seafoam it and see if it works.. and yes there is a little leak so im going to have to check it out were it coming from.. i havent done a oil change yet bc just did one last week when i put the motor back together but will do one to see oil level. and the block looked fine except for the pistons having little sludge in the middle and the outer part looked fine. was told that that was due to piston rings and changed it but its still smoking up.
