Default Smoking above 4000RPM.

Ok, I just put together a JDM D15B with a Y8 V-Tec head and if i drive under 4000 RPM it never smokes or burns oil. i can drive 3 weeks and not burn any oil. but after a day or 2 at the track beating on my car, I come all the way back home and i loose like a quarter of a quart of oil that fast. maybe half a court not sure.

The block i think is pretty low mileage.

But a little info on the head, Well my homeboys d16y8 00 ex started knocking. so we drained the oil and put washing powders, hot sauce, and some rocks into the oil and started the car and revved it till the rod flew threw the block. after that we pulled the y8 head and it sat for a year until i needed it lol. i cleaned it real good with gas but maybe this is why it smokes? not sure.

Just need to know what i should do to fix this and how much.
thanks in advance!

ummm, wow

i doubt that the hot sauce, laundry detergent, and rocks were good for the valves and seals. Your valve seals are probably toast.

I don't know why you even thought to use the head without replacing the valvetrain after what you did to it

I had a feeling it was them but i wasn't for sure. what are the chances of the problem being the piston rings?

No, I never ran this block at all. my old d16z6 i took out and put this block in and put the head in. so the block is new to me and the head used to not smoke but a long time ago.

So I've never used this block with any other head.

The job or the seals themselves?

Seals are pretty cheap OEM Honda, a full set for around $20-30.

I don't know how much the job costs, I don't put random **** in my crankcase.

Why don't you just go to the machine shop and ask them what services they offer and get a price list instead of asking us?

Maybe I read over the thread too quickly, but are you wanting a shop to replace valve stem seals? You know you just have to push those on, right?

I think they make a tool that uses magnetism to catch the keepers when you pop them off. Putting them back in is still a pain, but if you're careful enough, you shouldn't lose any. Plus it's probably easier with the head off the car. But anyway, if you're having machine work done to the head, then yeah, you might as well have them do it.
