i have a b16a2 and i just replaced my altenator belt and i got to turn it on and there is no smoke at idle but when i hit the gas i see some smoke not a lot but it
looks like white smoke coming out my car has been sitting al night so its at 0 degrees ... could this be the reason why its shooting out smoke when i hit the gas or what other reason is it?

Re: smoke when its cold? (1hotcivicSi)
does it continue to smoke under normal driving conditions? Also what color is the smoke...
do a search, there are plenty of topics about this.

Normal. Take a chemistry class
It's evaporation of dry hydrogen molecules in the air.
Don't you notice that everyone else has it also in cold weather?...Or ever took a breath in cold air?
Now when you 'shoot' out smoke what kind of smoke is it, white?
If it's white it could like I say be evaporating molecules in thinner air OR coolant.
Check your coolant level, see if you're burning any, or it's mixed with oil.
Drain your oil see if you smell anything, or taste it; if it's milky that's a no go, if you see like little coolant circles (hard to explain) in the oil you cna oil see at a certain angle cause the coolant and water are not both water based therefore it's a solute. And you'll see the different spots where coolant is in your oil it should be floating on top.
If you're so skeptical, do a compression test or a leak down.
COlors of smoke:
black - rich/fuel
blue - oil
white - water/coolant
...don't try to judge by just looking in your rearview, have someone drive behind you.
