smog woes. help needed!
so I go to get a smog today. everything is fine on the car. top working order. stock except for exhaust and I can't even get tested. the guy tells me something is loose having to do with my computer so he can't hook up into it. anybody know what might be wrong and what needs to be done to fix it and what that might cost? thanks
oh btw I have a 98 cx

they can NOT smog you if you they can't get into your computer...
that's why they didn't smog you...
Oh and they don't smog you faster or whatever if they think you'll fail... they either can do the test or can not.
As mentioned it sounds like your obd2 hookup port is disconnected or not working... but like mentioned I have no idea what would cause that other than you disconnecting something...

I know they didn;t smog me because they couldn;t get into the computer. thats why I said they would have failed me if a o2 sensor was loose.

i agree with dantastic
sounds like the dlc (data link connector)
but what do u mean loose its not mounted?
do u have a black connector hanging or stuff in under the steering wheel area?
if he says it won t communicate with the pcm then just check all the fuses

Re: (tomtomloc)
thanks I will check that out. I have been down there and have never noticed that that was loose. there is a relay for my fogs that cames loose and hangs a little in the footwell. maybe he saw that and thought it was the dlc.
