Default smog help

what can it be if i have high HC and CO when i failed smog?

I think one of the best sites to use for emissions problems is http://www.aircare.ca/index.ph...y.php . For now, see especially the CO and HC definitions and their respective causes links.

Yes, dirty spark plugs may be at least a part of the problem. When was the last time this car had new plugs, wires, dizzy cap, and timing check done on it? Also, all ignition parts should be OEM for best performance. Plus they last longer, or help other parts (like the ignition coil and igniter) last longer, and so pay for themselves.

also check the cat. it could be busted inside had the same problem on a bmw a year back
