Slight knocking sound near A/C side of EJ8
Hey guys,
I have a 96 Civic Ex (Si for Canadians) that has a slight knocking sound from the section. What could it be?

bad bearings in your a/c or powersteering bump? pulleys could be bad or els it could be your wishbone suspension on the drivers side

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. I use a long (12") screwdriver as a stethescope. Touch the screw driver to various parts and place your ear on it and listen. Doing this, my problem was obvious - bad AC tensioner bearing. Put the screwdriver on the bracket and could hear the trouble plain as day. Part was $40 at the dealer.

Thanks.. I'll check it out.
It happens with and without the A/C on.
And I think I said A/C area... so behind the driver's side headlight area.

no if you spin a bearing it makes a knocking noise i think you have spun a bearing buddy and it depends how much of the bearing is spun to determin the loudness of the knocking in your case it probly spun a little off and is just barely moving have you checked your dip stick and seen it had a little drip of oil on it and then put oil in

What do you mean by this?
have you checked your dip stick and seen it had a little drip of oil on it and then put oil in
I had a friend checking it out and he said it is definately not coming from the motor.
