Slave Cylinder out??? Please help
I can shift in and out of gears while the car is off, but if I start the car in neutral I cant put it in gear, feels like its locked out. If I start the car in 1st gear, the car will try to start rolling forward as the engine is cranking. Does this sound like the slave cylinder being bad or something else? Thanks

there is a slave and master that can go bad.... bleed the system first and see what results you get. trouble shoot from there...

This same thing happened to me and when I looked under my dash to see if
I could see anything I had brake fluid leaking down the firewall. When I checked
my reservior it was dry. So I filled it up, pumped the clutch for a few minutes until I could start the car in nuetral, then pumped some more while it was running.
I can't afford to fix my slave cylinder right now, so it will just have to continue leaking in my car.

if it is leaking inside the car [firewall] it is the master that is bad.
the slave cyl. is on the tranny....

if the rezzy is full there may be air in the system. you know how to bleed it?
might as well flush it. valvoline synpower. use a syringe of some sort [like a turkey baster] and suck out the fluid in the rezzy. top off with fresh synpower. have a friend pump and hold the clutch pedal to the floor. crack the bleeder on the slave and then tighten it. repeat from "top off rezzy"
i hate to say it tho, but your clutch may be fucked. and when the are that bad when the springs pop out and drag the flywheel gets fucked too...

Its either the slave or master cylinder or both. I'm just wondering now if I should replace both of them at the same time, or replace the slave cylinder; see if that fixes it and if not, do the master cylinder...Mainly I know its either of the two cuz I talked to a veteran Honda Tech today of over 20 years at a local dealership who is a family friend.

Re: Slave Cylinder out??? Please help (TurboMark)
I answered your question on the other forum, at least attempting to check what I offered, by all means go for it. But changing out one or the other is going to cost more than at least checking your clutch as stated, so if you're going to do this, change out the slave cylinder.
Did you check the slave cylinder on or off the transmission? I assume so long as the place you get the slave cylinder or master cylinder will give you a refund if neither is the problem then great, I couldn't do that where I live and had to rely on checking everything out first.

Re: Slave Cylinder out??? Please help (INVALID)
thanks. I checked the slave cylinder while my friend pumped the clutch and there was almost no movement. I'm just wondering if I should replace the slave with the master cylinder handy and see if it fixes the car so I can just return the master cylinder?

replace the slave cylinder first and bleed the system extremely well. The slave is only like $30 and the master is about $125.

Yea, thats probably what I'll do. The slave is actually around $50 from honda with my discount and the master is about $60.
