Skunk2 rear lower sway bar problems??
Has anyone had any problems with their skunk2 rear lower sway bars? I had one on my car and the bar ripped one of the bolts out of the subframe. It cracked the plate on the passenger side. I have had problems with the bar before, with the bolts shaking loose. I remember one problem with the swaybar, when the only thing holding the bar onto my car was the control arm braces. I have ordered the comptech sway/tiebar combo, I'm just wondering if I have to strengthen the subframe before the bar is installed? By the way, I autocross my car, which may have contributed to this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

why dont you just invest some money into chassis reinforcement kits? (i.e. Beaks/BSQ)
IM: BSQ - he sells the kits, very cool guy. And you cant go wrong with a $20 dollar investment.
Theres also no point of getting the comptech combo, skunk2 21mm and comptech is the same right?

comptech uses a 22mm bar like the itr. the comptech combo bolts the swaybar to the actual tiebar rather than the subframe, if you already ripped out your subframe i would definately recommend the comptech combo b/c the subframe will not hold the force again without some serious welding which costs $.
but if you are thinking abouth a rear swaybar for the first time and you dont have subframe damage i would say the competch bar is very overpriced. i think suspension techniques came out with a sway/tie combo as well but i think its expensive too...300+$
i'm happy with my itr bar with poly bushings, beaks kit, and benen tie bar for that price.

haHAHA that same thing happened to me. now i have to get it welded. there are a few companys out there that make one that attached to a lower tie bar which is such a better design. the skunk2 sway bar sucks. it tore out my **** too.

I got the S/T combo one for $280 or so. Was worried about subframe tearout so I picked up the combo rather than just a rear swaybar, though I could have just got the rear swaybar and reinforcement kits too.
