Mine does this sometimes. I noticed it does it in the morning or at night when it's cold, but after it warms up its fine. I just assumed that was the reason.

did you change the IACV from a 3 wire to a 2 wire? The only way it would be a 3 wire is if the car was automatic?

check the o-ring of the iacv, you have a vacuum leak

its just a big *** vacuum leak thats all.. you probably have it when you installed your intake manifold. Check and make sure all holes from the intake manifold are plugged into a vacuum hose or at least plugged up.

Like everyone else said, you have a vacuum leak. Check and double check all your vacuum connections.

Did you use a new im gasket/ tighten all the bolts in sequence to spec?
Sometimes its the small things overlooked.

Which manifold is it? Race version or street

To see if its a Vaccum leak to carb cleaner and apray around the gasket area, it make the idle jump. Sounds like a fitv to me, also if it was that It won't throw the code. Or try bleeding all the air out the coolant.

does the throttle body have the coolant lines attached to it? my d16z6 would do this at startup, to warm up.

He said it had a B16 Throttle body..

It's the FITV. Pull off your intake tube.. and you'll see two holes on the TB on the firewall side.. Plug the bottom one with your thumb, and see what happens.. If it idles down and idles normal.. You know what your problem is.

Pull off the FITV from the bottom of the TB, and Fill it with epoxy. (That's what I did with mine )

Actually..

If you don't have a FITV;

Pull off the intake tube, And plug the holes one by one with your finger, until it calms down. Once you found out what hole is sucking alot of air from we should be able to tell you whats going on. And if you plug all holes and it still idles, Then you have a vacuum leak somewhere else on the intake manifold.
