Hello HT

I just recently installed a Skunk2 IM on my D16y8.

The IM has a hole for the Iat sensor on pipe number 1.

I have a 97 Ex. And I couldnt find anything that fits there. I did a quick googling and found that my "IAT" is like a little nipple that goes into the air filter.

Is this right? What am I supposed to do here?

Either convert to the obd1 style and connector or place the iat into your intake arm and make a block off plate for the manifold

i used the oem oem thats in the intake arm and put a obd1 iat sensor into the hole as a block off plate . when i did mine

^^^^^this, you should be able to pick up a used or broken obd1 sensor for dirt cheap. Bolt it up and as long as it doesn't leak ur good.

hey make sure you label all those hoses when you swap the intake manifold.....its a pain in the *** to figure out what goes where after everything apart lol

I see, I will either try to make my own block off plate or get a odb1 IAT sensor so I can bolt it on there with a little liquid gasket in there.


It wasn't hard at all. I didn't label the hoses. Luckily the hose fell where they were supposed to be. ( I still took a few pics on how the hoses were supposed to be just in case)

The hardest part was cleaning the old gasket which was toasted and so hard to take off and also to take the middle nut on the bottom of the manifold. Everything else was a charm.

Thanks for the input. I will work on the block off plate. I was also thinking on threading a short screw in it and putting some liquid gasket to seal it. What you guys think?

I would thread in a bolt and plug it like that.


As for the IAT you can leave it hanging, wont hurt anything.

i would either make a block off plate or find an iat sensor to put there. put the oem sensor back in the intake arm.
