skunk2 cams question
i have a set of skunk2 cams
they came out of a GSR motor
the lobes are a little worn (expected)
but the journals are rough, like if you go along with your fingernail, they are grooved
i was wondering if they could be machined to fix that

whic way do the grooves go? would they be going the same way the cam is turning or or they going across the way if you know what i mean? my guess is that whoever put the cams into the gsr torqued down the holders too tight, causing the groove affect. i dont think you need to bother machingin them out. just torque EVERYTHING down to factory spec.......EVERYTHING....

Re: (egsir2)
they can be machined down. but you need to have exactly what you want (specs.)
the groves should move w/ the rotation of the cam. if the journals are bad check for dust and other stupid things that get stuck /hell even a bit of warpage. id get the journals ground. the lobes, leave em as they stand.
