skunk intake manifold
Hi I was thinking about getting a skunk intake manifold for my Del Sol si, and was wondering if the new manifold would affect gas mileage. Does anybody know?
By the way this is a great site a lot of info about everything thanks!!!

Re: skunk intake manifold (germ07)
I would not put the manifold on the car. You would need to build the top end of the motor with new camshafts, timing gears etc. to really need a skunk 2 intake manifold. If anything, with hardly any modifications... it will just sap your horsepower and most likely gas mileage.

Word, the del sol si is a sohc, you'll notice a drop in power across the middle of the powerband, and a slight increase across the top.
Not worth the time/money IMO when that's 1/3-1/4 of a turbo build.
