Si or Integra GSR?
I am in the market for either a 2000 Civic Si or a 2000 GSR. What are your guys' opinions on what I should pursue? I know the standard differences, but from an enthusiast point of view what would you recommend? I would probably be paying a bit more for an Integra. Any input is appreciated. Also, would be a solid deal on a 2000 Si with 30 to 40k miles? Thanks

Re: Si or Integra GSR? (lahight)
both are great cars! teg has a little more power but civic has a little better look IMO
but I think it is pretty much a draw so do what you want (if you want to make that SI take some tegs out just switch the block to a 2 liter)

I once contemplated the same thing, I chose SiR
Reasons
1) Cheaper!
2) Better Suspension ( Front tower brace, front and rear stabilizers )
3) Loaded
4) Only 10 HP less ( can make that up with bolt ons)
5) Lighter
6) Comes with a nice lip\grill
7) Nice stock wheels (pretty light)
8) looks better
9) Runs only .2 less in a 1\4 mile stock

1. True
2. SI front sway 26mm GSR 24mm SI rear sway 13mm GSR 14mm.
3. GSR is loaded as well.
4. Torque from B18C1 will own you. B16's don't have it.
5. By 75 lbs.
6. Lips scratch
7. Stock...who stays stock. BTW, they weight about the same as the GSR's.
8. Opinion
9. Who the hell is driving!!! That's the difference between an LS and SI not GSR.

No matter how much you try and argue it, this thread is based soley* on opinion. You have already stated the fact when you made the thread that you know the differences in power. So any si owner will tell you si and any gsr owner will tell you gsr. And i of course would tell you to go with my setup(which will be cheaper and spank the pants off of both ).........a 92-95 EH hatchback w/ a jdm B18C1 or if you have enough money left over, B18C5.....then you would really be ballin yo.
Just go with your gut and dont let either side pursay you........remember its your car

Re: Si or Integra GSR? (Si-G93)
I was in the same situation a year ago. I decided on the Si because it looked better to me. Plus, with the times I'm running now(in sig) with bolt ons and CTR intake cam, I can't complain.

Re: Si or Integra GSR? (Civic_EX)
Go with whatever you like. Both are good choices. The Si and GS-R are extremely reliable automobiles - which is what most people look for these days - and if you don't go too crazy on the pedal, the are really fuel efficient.
Both cars also have a vast array of aftermarket bolt-on, both under the hood, and cosmetically.
The downside of both is high theft rates - which in turn leads to higher insurance premiums in most areas of North America. For example, when I was interested in buying an ITR, (and mind you, I still am), the insurance rates were approximately $5,000+ more for an Integra than for a Civic.

Re: Si or Integra GSR? (lowandslow)
Ever thought about a 97+ Prelude. It's another Honda, and is in about the same target area of the GS-R.
I don't think it's right to compare a Civic to a GS-R. But on the other hand, a Prelude to a GS-R is a more realistic/even battle.
Not too many people like the 'Lude, but after I saw this one, it changed my view upon them.
