Default SI brakes on a DX?

I'm planning to swap my DX brakes with SI brakes. do i also have to change the master cylinder for this to work?

Also, how much improvement over stock should i be expecting?

i upgraded mine to the LS/GS-R brakes...you go from the 9.3" rotor to a 10.2" rotor and you do notice a difference if your road racing or u have to brake hard in any other kind of situation... Si brakes are the same size

I do road race. I was under the impression that changing the drums to discs would be somewhat beneficial?

If by Si you mean the 99-00 Si, and by DX you mean the 96-00 DX, well then that is a perfect brake upgrade. The fronts are an easy direct swap, the rears are the same and the e-brake cables are a perfect fit! As far as the MC, upgrading it would be beneficial if you upgraded your frotn brakes.

Now as far as the prop valve, YOU DO NOT need a different one, your stock DX prop valve is the same exact one as the Si prop valve.

I have done this swap in 3 EK's of mine and I loved it each time.

it improves braking by little bit, since the front does most of the braking anyways

I know this thread is from5/2009, but I'm currently wanting to do something similar to this too. 99-00 full suspensions onto a 92 civic Hb dx. Will this be a direct fit? or is this a no-no..? thanks.
