SHREDDED TIMING BELT(OH ****)
My car wouldnt start the other night and i couldnt figure out why...I found out last night!!! I took off my cam gear cover a while ago and i put the bolt that held it on back in but some how it came lose!! It fell down into the timing belt and got wedged in the Timing belt gear on the spocket and shedded the timing belt into a thousand pieces and the gear is all notched up.. I'm not sure what all it messed up but I got the pieces today so I'm going to try and fix it tonight because I have to have a car this weekend because my parents are going out of town!! Ill have some pics up some time soon!!

do a leak down test. If you come away with less than 8 bent valves I will be surprised anc consider you lucky.

Yeah but when you keep cranking it, it might damage something. I hope not...

doesn't matter if you were idling or revving. THe only thing difference is the speed with which the piston wil hit the valve. But if a timing belt breaks regardless of engien speed a piston is gign to hit a valve somwhere along the lines. It is not that big if a deal. 16 new stainless valves for 250 and have a 3 angle valve job and new valve seals while your at it. THat is only 450-500 and you nhave yourself a nice brand new head. I have seen the rare instances though where there were no bent valves. SO myabe this is one of them . Good luck

I have gotten lucky 3 times! Hondas are definatly not the cars to break timing belts in! I would do a compression test before starting the car if you have that ability! Just so there isn't any suprises...
