Should i skip a motor mount? Are the consequences big??
I am swapping out my stock d15z1 for a b16a on my eg, but im missing a bracket the one that goes to the back. Should i just skip or should i wait to find the bracket. I tried finding the bracket but i cant find it

I would strongly recommend not skipping any mounts when swapping a motor. Especially that back one that your talking about because that one holds the motor when you accelerate and takes a good majority of the torque.

LoL, I was thinking the same thing. If someone has to ask this question, they probably shouldn't be doing a motor swap. I wonder if he skipped on any thing else for this swap.

The only motor mounts that you don't absolutely need are the lower trans/engine torque mounts. I have Drop Engineering mounts, which are obviously much stiffer than oem rubber mounts especially the hydro mount on ek's, and they compensate for the lower mounts. Motor mount inserts are also a cheap fix too... my bays shaved and tucked so the lower mounts being gone was necessary.

You could probably just use a lot of zip ties or wire coat hangers to lift that ls motor back up. Zip ties > motor mounts (sarcasm)

Back mount is the most important if you decide not to use it hit me up i have a shop in town that dose a great job of fixing blocks that have ripped out drivers mounts from people not using front torque mounts and bad rear mounts!

SI and Type R models were the only ones that came with those mounts stock. The rest were optional.

I know in my V6 chrysler, a bad front motor mount destroyed my CV joints, broke blades off the fan and put a dent in the firewall (and my valve cover.) I would get a THUNK on accel/deaccel as the engine thrashed about.

i just posted pictures of what can happen when you dont run torque mounts and you still say this
aftermarket engine mounts dont "compensate" for torque mounts

I have eBay Motor Mounts in my EG hatch/GSR. Driver side, Top Transmission, and Rear-with the T Bracket from Acura. I don't have A/C at all so i ditched the A/C Bracket, and i didn't get a lower transmission mount. And my car is fine and has been for going on 5 months now. You can just run these 3 and the T Bracket and be perfectly fine. I don't have any vibration issues or anything.

Full set of motor/torque Hardrace mounts here. Not taking ANY chances. I've heard the "you don't really need them" argument but f--k that! If Honda put the on there then the need to be on there.

Jim Fab motormounts are a good alternative to OEM. You can make a milkshake on the dash at idle if you want to. lol
