should i buy this del sol
i currently crashed a type r conversion from an ls. total loss with insurance, so i have a nice check for 13 k. my loan to be payed off is 6 grand so 13k minus 6 k = 7k so if i can pick this car up for 4 k i got 2-3 to play with..
was maybe thinking sell the 1.6l engine in it and put a gsry motor and tranny in? or just do some work with the existing motor? wut u guys think? i dont carry passengers, only my gf, i hate ppl sittingbehind me neway, and i like the teg look so i can put the front end on here too.. as for the console from the tegs would that fit?

Re: should i buy this del sol (CIVICLUDE)
I know this is a double post but oh well for people lazy enough not to goole it i did it for ya
Pros :
- Powerful engine.
- Attractive, sporty styling.
Cons :
- Compact interior.
- Not enough torque.
The latest Prelude model has been cancelled due to poor sales, but that does not mean it is a bad car. The attractive early-to-mid-90s Prelude body style was released in '92 and was offered with various engines for five years before being replaced by a boxy-styled coupe that spelt the death of this great car.
The most powerful engine offered was the 2.2L 190 hp VTEC from '93 to '96, with a hefty 30 hp more than the mid-range 2.4L 160 hp Prelude Si engine. As with all VTEC-powered Hondas and Acuras, peak horsepower is only available in the higher rpm range. Peak torque is actually lower than the 160 hp engine. Performance is more than adequate from one of the most powerful naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engines, bettered only by Honda's new-generation i-VTEC engines. Exterior styling is unique and still fresh, but the interior is somewhat cramped and the back seat is best suited for small kids or a briefcase. Only a five-speed manual is offered.
The chassis is very competent and the engine features traditional Honda reliability. A great used car buy, if there is such a thing.
Specifications :
Price Range : $8,000-$14,000 Get a FREE used car price quote
Engine : 4-cylinder, DOHC, front engine FWD
Displacement : 2,157 cc
Valve : 16 valves, 4 valves per cylinder
Transmission : 5-spd manual
Fuel economy : city - 22 mpg
highway - 26 mpg
Horsepower : 190 hp @ 6600 rpm
Torque : 156 lb-ft @ 5250 rpm
0-60 mph : 6.6 sec.
Curb Weight : 2900 lbs(estimated)
Overall length : 174.8 in.
Wheelbase : 100.4 in.
Overall Width : 69.5 in.
Height : 50.8 in.

H23's were still made in 93-95, not just 92.

Never was a fan of that Prelude. Not quite a Sol person either, but of the two, go for the Sol. If the kit is fab'd/mold'd right, I love them. Maybe put a 5th gen hatch front on it?

I said that all 97+ Prelude's came withan h22 of some sort. The 92-96 came with 3 different motors, one SOHC but I don't know the block code, the h23 non vtec, and the h22. But 97+ Preludes all had VTEC engines weather there Type SH or not.
I would go with the Lude.

Re: should i buy this del sol (Lscivic1999)
I think the real question you should ask yourself is, "Am I straight and/or male?"
If the answer to either is "yes," then you shouldn't buy a Del Sol.

oh ok my bad mang i thought you said that prelude's that came with h22's were only 97+ I understood wrong.... but anywho go with the lude!!!! because think about it you will have a H22 to start with and if you get tired of the lude take that motor out put it in a hatch and you'll be a insane DD that what im doing with my EK coupe H22 all the way...more torque means faster off the line...well if you get traction
