Should I buy this Coupe?
So I finally got my accord to the shop and they are saying it could be total loss, so I found this red coupe at this dealership that my friend bought a car from. I went and looked at it and it was real nice, 81k miles, 5 spd, 94 ex red coupe, interior and exterior were in mint condition, has some type of aftrmarket cd player cuz it had no face, and it was 5950. does that sound like a good price? another question I had was, I am taking my accord ground controls off and putting stock suspension back on, do you think the spring rate would work for the civic or would it be really off? i know the sleeves are the same so i was wondering about how bad the spring rates would ride on it ( or good) let me know, thanks
by the way, i would link u to a pic but the idiots posted a pic of some old *** benz heres the link anyways, get a good laugh lol http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp....ist=0
thanks

Re: Should I buy this Coupe? (Slammed95Cord)
that depends of what you are planning to do next. The coupe sounds good because of the low mileage and it's mint condition. But if you are planning to do an engine swap then you should get a car that is cheaper. You couly buy a coupe for about 2500-3000 with higher mileage and with the rest you can get a swap.
I would definitely look for a hatch even, i think it looks better than coupes. Regardless, my hatch cost me $2500 and I spend the rest on my engine swap and other mods such as suspension. Then I saved some money and got a custom paint job. Ultimately, the car that I have is the result of all the effort I put into. I could have bought a stock car and be done with that, but where's the fun in that??
It's not a good idea to use the same springs on your accord on the civic

Well, I'm only 16 and my mom is trying to control what I get, and a hatch is pretty much out of the picture, and I wasnt planning on a swap anytime soon. She is against hatches for some reason. I've wanted one forever, even before I got my accord. The only things I will probably do to this car is Suspension ( selling accord stuff and buying civic stuff), vision corners, some type of lip, and bolt ons for now until i get out of highschool because my job doesnt pay me much and I have cell phone bills and insurance to pay. My mom was supportive about the coupe and its really clean so I think I'm gonna get it. It all depends on if the accord is really total loss tho, so I will find out today. Thanks for help and advice, thats why I came to H-T

If it's in excellent condition I'd try to talk them down to $5000 at least. You could find one for $3500-$4000, but by the time you replace the carpet, floormats, and get it painted you've actually spent more than you would on one in good condition.
Took me a long time to find one in good shape. My interior, and trunk still look brand new. Some people could careless about cleanliness so get whatever you want.

5900 sounds a bit steep but maybe you could low ball em' and get 5000 for it. You'll still come out with a nice car because of the inter. & exter. mentioned being in great condition. The motor is a nice SOHC VTEC D16Z6--which is a great little motor to start with.
I have a 94 EX Coupe and I love it! Needs paint but motor still pulls very nice & strong after going over 151k. I say go for it

i honestly agree 100%^
theres always someone out there that's trying to get rid of their old econo-box. if they wanna sell it that bad, you'll get a good enough price and take it off their hands. just think about it like doing them a favor and you'll always end up with the right price
