I'm modifying a stock ITR shift lever to work in the hatch. I've been in a car that had this combo w/ poly bushings and it rocks. OEM quality...assuming the machining is done correctly.
I'll post pics, instructions when done. Should be cheaper than most aftermarket short throws.

I have the B&M with the old bushing kit. I don't think they make the metal bushings anymore. And the knockoff typeR metal shift ****. It shift's real solid.

i have the skunk2 and it was well worth the money, i dont even realize its not stock until i drive someone else's car!!! Its really smooth and well built, and very easy to install, takes about 3min if you do it from the bottom of the car.

I have the skunk2 w/ **** and bushing kit. Well worth the money. I paid 190 for all of this but worth it to me. If you could drive a car w/ and w/out one you would definetely want one.

wow, guess i'm the only one who had a short shifter, but didn't like it. i thought it was really neat at first, and if i had kept my stock motor i prolly would have kept it, but with a engine swap and hasport mounts, a short shifter really goofs things up. i used a DC, C's, and now i'm back to stock. definately like the poly bushings though.

Re: short shifters? (snail)
i love my $20 generic one from autozone. feels just the same as my friend's dc shifter
anyway. here is my standpoint on the entire thing.
WHY do you need to shift faster than the RPM's drop when you shift?
i have a lightweight flywheel and a stock shifter and i still beat the drop if i powershift its pointless and puts unneeded stress on the syncros.

Will it really snap? I was thinking the same thing, a generic should be okay, but i do guess you pay for quality. You mentioned a lightened flywheel, which did you go with?

Re: short shifters? (RSZero1)
the ones like Skunk 2, DC, B&M, and neuspeed....they are all made out of steel...and the generic ones that you will find at autozone, or ebay are all made out of aluminum(sp). And yes the cheap ones can snap in half becasuse of the cheap materials used in making them

B&M on my GT...it took a bit of getting used to..the usual miss d shifts..and i still miss one now and then..but im happy with it..its alot more forgiving than the Hurst setup i had in the 70 s ...on one miss d shift i nearly broke my wrist *owie!!*
