Which Short Shifter?
While I'm swapping my motor, I want to ahead and change the shifter bushings out and put a short shifter in. I see tons of different ones, just curious which ones you are running?

I personally use Skunk2, but that's because their product has never let me down.
I would say, as long as its name brand and NOT ebay, you are good to go, just choose one you like.

Re: Which Short Shifter?
I love my fastline shifter. It's not a short shifter but an extended shifter, super close to the steering wheel. Depending on your setup, the shifter may contact your exhaust since the shifter is a tad longer on the bottom side of the pivot compared to stock.. no problems yet. I bought mine from heel toe auto.

Re: Which Short Shifter?
There is only 2 differences in short bend and dual bend.
Short bend there is one bend, which depending which way you make it face (front or rear) will end up with the shifter further or closer to your body (at its base position.) That also affects which gears feel "shorter". You are basically replacing your 50/50 ratio for a 25/75. For example, if you have it facing towards the front of your car (the elbow of the bend pointing rear) first to second feels shorter but second to third will be slightly longer. Also take into account the fact that the shifter is longer, that also decrease's overall shortness (If tractor trailer's had short shift stalks it would be an insanely long distance to move the shifter to shift.)
The dual bend, moves the shifter **** higher, but because the first bend is put from the second bend, your 50/50 ratio from gear to gear stays the same, but gets a shorter distance because the overall length of the shifter is longer. once again, you will either move the shifter closer or further from you.
I'm not good at explaining this, but its all true (from a mathematical standpoint).

Re: Which Short Shifter?
Maybe its only detrimental because most wanna-be tuners who buy short shifters think at that point they will shift faster and can race faster so they constantly try to shift super fast and doing so they grind gears. Only thing I can think of......
I've had a short shifter in my car for like 6 months and the tranny is still the same pos it was the day I bought the car.

Re: Which Short Shifter?
i had a B&M dual bend and energy suspension bushings and it felt nice but i think i would rather go with a stock gsr or type r one with the bushings, the B&M sat too low for me

Re: Which Short Shifter?
99% of all short shifters are modeled after ITR shifter buy one of them for cheaper and be OEM
