Service Connector?

Service Connector?
I've owned my 1992 Civic LX since 2002. I've always jumped a grey small connector to check my check engine lights with no problem. I'm assuming the service connector is the same connector you use to check engine codes/adjust timing right?
I only ask because many many times I've seen people here mention that the service connector is actually green. Today I decided to finally look around my ecu area and found a wide green connector. There is also a small grey connector, and the gray one is the one I've been using for engine codes with no problem.
Is the service connector different than the connector I use to check my CEL codes?
Thanks

Re: Service Connector? (sageuvagony)
I just took another look and noticed that the green thing isn't an actual plug, but instead it's like a green rubber jacket thingy which houses both plugs when not in use.
Both plugs still only have 2 wires.
