Seized LCA Bolt/Bushing s**t!
Well i went to go take out the bolt that goes through the LCA (putting on my rear illuminas finally). Been beatin on it for the past hour, cut off the welded nut on the stock strut, but it still won't go (usin screw driver, sledge hammer method). Any suggestions? I know im gonna need new bushings, but is there anything I can do short of cutting off the fork at the bottom of the strut that holds the bolt (next planned step)?

Bump need some help. Stock struts are expendable so is cutting them the best route to go?

Grind both the head of the bolt and the nut off the strut then bend the tabs out and you should be able to take them apart. After that you will need to saw the old bushing out and repace it with a new one, i went with ES for the bushing. Good luck..

Re: Seized LCA Bolt/Bushing s**t! (SICKSOLVTEC-T)
Well.... got the struts out (cut the tab), and pounded out the lca bushing. One of my LCA's is loose so i'm just gonna go ahead and get some new ones. Someone locktighted the bolt at the top of the piston rod, so thats gonna have to go with my pops to work for some time with the impact wrench. It's all pretty much mapped out as to what I gotta do from here. Thanks guys.

try some pb blaster before you give up,
its raved about.
soak that **** real good come back like 30min later,
soak again,
and let it sit overnight, maybe come back again or somethin..
then hit it the next day and see if it breaks loose,
if not.. then **** it.

Re: (Tad)
Heh the damage is already done. Was hopin to save the OEM struts (why i wanted to keep em is beyond me... security i guess). Ended up workin out all good in the end. Just need new LCA bushings and what not. Only broke 4 dremel discs! For future reference for any of you doing this... get the Dremel brand manderel, it won't break. I forget the first one I got but it broke before i even got half way through the first strut tab.
