Seat dye

Re: Seat dye (jmeyer99)
It's possible, if it's anything like other seats it's held on by metal rings and adhesive so be careful removing it. Also, you might be a little disappointed with the dye, the last thing I dyed black turn out dark purple. Of course it started white so you might have a better chance.

RIT is the dye you use for your laundry and have to wash the excess out, correct?
Google/Yahoo Duplicolor or SEM for fabric dye. Also check the FAQ at top for a link to a DIY a member did. Changed his gray carpet to black, but said that the texture was that of a scotch brite pad. Looked good though

I dyed my carpet from gray to black with RIT dye, and yes at first it was hard as a scotch brite pad but after a little while, it gets softer. One thing you definitely have to worry about is bleeding for the first two weeks or so. It will also bleed whenever you spill any liquid on the carpet no matter how long ago you did it because the color never really seals in like the oem color. Hope that helps
Btw, I know someone who dyed their seats.. They ended up tossing them in the trash weeks later.
