scrapping sound when shifting 1-2-3, and wheel rattle
the car is a 94 honda civic lx 4door-sedan non-vtec
when i shift between first secound and third, i get scrapping sounds when about to shift up/down, also if i release the accelerator while in gear on these 3 it will scrape, im guessing its the clutch, but im a noob with cars, can anyone confirm this for me? and could you give me a suggestion for a good clutch kit (i dont need a 300 dollar kit) but not too expensive please.
also, i noticed when im going slow-ish i get some rattling noise coming from the rear-right wheel, so i propped it up to check it out, seemed normal, so i pulled the handbrake, and sure enough, the left tire had no play, was completely firm, the right one had play forward and backwards (no sideways play). what would this be? i have no clue but im guessing it has something to do with it
and one more thing, im thinking of getting a paintjob for my car, its pretty bad, a nearby mechanic shop told me about 450 for a job that will last me a 3-4 years (my car is white, i want to paint it black). but i read on the forum and most people talk about maaco, should i look into that?
thanks for all the help people! i am new to this, (my first car) so go easy on the jargon please! (also if the only thing you have to say is how this is a **** car or w/e you are not helping and are not invited to share your elitist point of view)
thanks in advance!

mechanic.
the shifting might be it hitting the exhaust but thats usually from a modification done.
also for the most part maaco sucks.

wow. so far as i have seen, this server seems to be made up of 90% opiniated people, 10% people who know what they are talking about.
i ask what those things could be, and 3 people say mechanic. thanks captain obvious you have been a great help!
and one guy says clutch kits are expensive wtf 100-200 bucks is not expensive for a clutck kit.
thanks for the 1 answer that seems to be actually related to the question though

Good luck getting further help with that attitude. This is a public forum. Be prepared to get all kinds of answers. Especially if you know nothing about cars.
You have a mechanic at your disposal but you are asking for unqualified advice from people on a forum. Maybe he only does paint jobs.

you ever wonder why they don't have a mechanic via phone?
because unless your there. there is NO way of telling whats wrong with your car.
so mechanic. thats what i'd do if i wasn't mechanically inclined. duh.
if you see 1-200 bucks as not expensive how is 300 breaking the bank?
