Default Safe to drive on 3 lugs?

One of my wheel studs broke off my front passenger wheel today, just wondering if it's safe to ride around on 3 lugs?

it will be OK for a while but if it's front I'd get it changed for safety
I had to have one done and it was only like $20 at a tire shop

Oh ok. It's my only car and need to get around. Not getting on any highways or anything, just inside roads. Just making sure

it actually can warp your brakes (calipers and rotors) if you hit them too hard being on 3 lugs - happened to a close friend's CRX. just get the missing lug nut. lol

if the wheel isnt falling off he isnt going to warp the brakes. that was a coincidence. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by schardbody &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">NO, YOU WILL BLOW YOUR MOTOR.</TD></TR></TABLE>

You will be fine on 3, just make sure the remaining 3 are torqued and dont go crazy.

&lt;- has run a full day of HPDE (road racing) and a full day of drifting on 4 out of 5 nuts.

perfectly fine

especially out of the FOUR on most honda wheels, the only time I worried about lug nuts was when I went to take my friend's pathfinder and there was 5/6 lugs on 3 of the wheels, and 2 lugs on one of the wheels....

I had to move them then...

yeap you'll be fine... when the shop snapped one of my studs, i had to drive around for a couple of weeks with 3 studs.

from that day on, ive never brought my car back to a shop except for alignment.

personally if i were u i would get a torque wrench, after i broke one of mine off, thats the first thing i got when i for back from the honda dealer(yes they raped me but not TOO bad). als if u have one of htem replaced, id have all of them replaced, its not that much more, because if one of htem broke form being too tight on that wheel, the other 3 have more of a chance.

I have a torque wrench but it only goes up to 75ft lbs , i got hte 1/2" wrench and it goes up to 150ft lbs so get urself a torque wrench!!

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr...e=Yes thats the one i got, it works perfectly and it has a lifetime warranty on it.

you're not too bad, i'd check every so often to see though. Just make sure your lugs are still in tact and not loose. Fix it, it's not that expensive anyway.

I believe someone loosened my lug nuts and I ended up going on the freeway.
(TRUE STORY)
and I ended up driving on 1 lug nut while all the other three fell off. It was pretty scary, but I saw I was missing 3 lug nuts. 1 lug holding and my wheel was being all weird. I do not ever want that to happen again, so I got new lugs with key.

Because 4/5 is exactly the same as 3/4...not trying to be mean, I'm just tired

But yeah, you'll be fine all you need is to make a plane (three points). Should get it fixed ASAP tho.
