The S2000 uses an amplified (powered) antenna, so if you're currently stock (manual) you would need to run a harness up there to supply it with power.

If you have a power antenna installed, I suspect you may be able to rig up something using the OEM harness - but I've never seen a diagram on the S2000 antenna so I don't know what it's power requirements are.

When you say powered, do you mean it extends when you turn on the radio and retracts when you turn it off?

S2000 antennas can't move.

I know, I just wanted to see if he knew that or not.

There was a time when I thought about putting an aftermarket antenna that was similar to the s2000's on my car.

Um. You notice how the S2000 antenna is stubby? Doesn't extend or retract? The reason it doesn't get horrible reception is because there's an amplifier in the antenna assembly. That amplifier needs power to work. That's why I said "amplified (powered) antenna".

A power antenna mast that extends and retracts doesn't contain an amplifier, the power leads in the harness drive the motor that extends & retracts the antenna. It doesn't need an amplifier because the antenna, extended, is as large as a non-powered antenna.

With an S2000 antenna assembly you might be able to use a Del Sol powered antenna harness to power the amplifier. Otherwise you could just run the necessary leads back there from the breaker panel. To know which leads need to go where you'd an electrical diagram of the antenna assembly, or at least a cheat sheet.

i dont see why not.. i put one on my teg... and it worked ok.. definitely not as good reception.. but that is probably because of the amplifier another member talked about.. some guy on here was selling the mounting kit for it.. search for that.. it will give you ideas of how to install it.. I purchased the kit and I can say everything u need u can find at home depot.. just buy the antenna on ebay for 20.00 .. and from that point i am sure u can figure out what parts u will ned to mount it on your car.. the hardest part is to get it to sit properly.. neds som imagination and some PVC piping..
