Re: Running on 3 Cylinders (00TurboEX)
I talked to a mechanic yesterday and he said when you have this problem it's alot of trial and error. From the looks of it the cap on the distributor is new .
Could it be a bad valve.

Sounds like a shitty mechanic who doesn't know how to diagnose a problem and wants you to spend a lot of money.
Are you getting spark in that cylinder? Is the injector for that cylinder working? Have you done a compression test?

Exactly.
Should take very little time to diagnose.

Re: Running on 3 Cylinders (Slopoke)
He isnt even trying to fix it himself. Listen an engine needs three basic things to work. Spark,Air,Fuel. Check each one of those very carefully.

Just got done checking the injectors I don't think thats the problem the #1 injector works fine on #2.
If a cylinder dosen't have compression it can cause it to run shitty.
Also upon checking #1 spark plug it is all black if that helps anyone and the car also smokes pretty bad.

You need to actually check for spark on cyl #1. Pull the plug, stick it into the end of the wire, ground it, and have someone crank the motor and see if the plug is firing.
Then do a quick compression check on #1. If its low, you can do a leakdown test to find out where the problem is(whether its the rings or valves).
