Rumors..Ls Head B20 Block...Runs Better??? Views on b18b head b18a1 block...
After a few conversations with a couple ppl I have gotten mixed comments on a Ls head/B20 block combo running better then a str8 b20 because there is more flow in the Ls head..True or untrue?
Second I have a b18b head and a b18a1 block i plan to put together i wanna drop it in some-wat stock but is there any lil things I should have done to either before they come together..
btw the head has a AEM exhaust cam[thats how i bought it]should i invest in a intake cam...leave it how it is or get a stock ls cam??
All views are appreciated I really want tha swap put together buy my birthday next month

I just picked up a complete B18B1 and my plans are to take off the head and do a 3angle valve job along with a hot tank and crack test. Im also going to get the crank micro polished and balanced, replace the timing belt and water pump and have the block flushed etc etc.

Unless you have a P8R B20 head, then there is no benefit to putting on B20 head onto a B18B block. In fact, the stock B18B intake manifold flows better than the stock B20 intake manifold.

This was my thread on this topic, putting a b18b1 head on a b20 block. Check it out, theres some good info as to why the head swap would be pretty pointless. If you're going to do anything (in my opinion) swap the b18b1 cams into the b20 head, thatll give you a decent bump (i think 5-7 horses at the wheel, dont quote me on that though I cant remember exactly what it was.) Hope this helps!
