yeah, i installed my intake like.. sometime early december and i looked at my bay when i was installing my strutbar. i noticed that the lower front part of my cai was getting deep scratches from the hole it was going to. i fixed it today, and it looks like the lower front back of the intake is rubbing on the hole now. i fear that its gonna scratch, scratch until it makes a hole... any tips on how i could prevent this from happening?

its a real bitch to take the strutbar off and on!!

For christs sake man, it's four bolts. Just pull that bar back off and move it around until you get it where it doesnt rub.

put a grommet big enough to fit around the hole. scratching will stop

I just put some rubber hose stuff like what holds it onto your tb around where the hole is wearing on your intake.

Or you can just slip on a rubber connector over your intake tubing. No cutting or trimming involved, just buy a rubber connector (like the kind that holds the intake pipe to the TB) and slip it over the intake pipe where it rubs against the chassis. That's what I had to do when my GReddy charge piping was rubbing against the resonator hole. Worked great without any damage to the rubber connector, either. And I see you're from Sac. Me, too.

or you could go with the ever useful duct tape The connectors work, but if it's a 3" pipe it'll be kinda hard to slip it that far down the pipe (unless you've got a secton cut out for a bypass or something, then you don't have to do any bends). I like the hose idea, I might try that for mine

i had the same problem, wrap the pipe in rubber or if you want to be ghetto like me duct tape.

yea, it four bolts and hella wires that you have too move each time around. i can see a spoon strutbar being easy to install, but i guess you havnt experienced the love/hate relationship with carbing

True. I merely cut the connector lengthwise and held it to the intake pipe with clamps.

Thats exactly what i did...works perfect. Just go buy a rubber coupling and put that on there

ok im real ghetto when it comes to some things- so i took a little plastic piece with rubber sticky stuff on one side(i have no idea where it came from) and stuck it to the cai right where it was hitting the side of the whole- problem solved...maybe even a few times around with electrical tape would work?...

Take some wire loom and put that around the hole you cut......no more scratching.
