Default RPM Shooting up

Hey,

Well I finished installing my catch can today and was going to take it for a test drive. As the car just finished warming up i was gonna make a shift at about 5000rpm. Not really reefin on it. I put the cluch in and let off the gas. As I put the clutch in the revs SHOOT UP to 9200RPM as per the VAFC. THis is the second time this has happend. I did not have my foot on the gas. They just started to shoot up so got a little paniced and didnt put it in gear. Last time was a week ago but it didnt shoot up as high. I looked over everything thottle cable seems fine and so does the butterfly in the throttle body. What could this be?

ps I have a eg with a jdm gsr swap with a built bottom end no headwork. Im scared im gonna wreck my head. The ECU I have in it is pretty agressive as i just found out the redline is 9200rpm .

Thanks.

a friend of mine's civic used to shoot up to redline too when you put in the the clutch. Her throttle was sticking, but only stuck when you put it at the right spot. it was weird. Usually happened when you were going up a hill giving it more gas, but not WOT.

Kinda sounds like what you were doing. I say lube the spring and see if that helps at all..

Did lubing the spring seem to help? Any other ideas?

Looked overeverything. Throttle cable was a bit loose. Tightend it up. Hopefully it never happens again. Off topic but is there anyway to lower a redline with a
VAFC-2?

Thanks!
