I have a 93 cx with a b16a

when i first start the car it idles rough, it fluctuates up and down and if i touch the gas pedal and let the rpms drop the car stalls. this only happens for the first couple of minutes of the car running. also in low rpms 2k-3k if i try to accelerate the car sputters a bit. i am not sure if they are related but they are both annoying.

i just want to know if anyone knows where i should start looking. i have no cel's and the car runs fine after it warms up (asides from the low rpm sputtering)

any ideas H-T?

1. you may have a vacuum leak around the intake manifold
2. check and clean IAC valve (idle air control valve)
3. clean or change spark plugs, leads and rotor
4. renew fuel filter

thats what i would be checking for

okay i will check all that out, i did plugs and wires. was going to do the fuel filter and cap and rotor this week.

how hard is it to check and clean the IAC valve? never really had to mess with that before.

its not hard at all. just 2 bolts to undo and a 2 wire connection and its in your hands. you will see two holes that faced the intake manifold, spray inside them and give it a shake. i just used good old wd40 but you could use carb cleaner engine cleaner etc.
