I have had my set of Slipstreams for about a month and I love them. The black looks really good on my hatch and the quality seems to be pretty good. I do agree with you about the website. It could use some work, but you are not buying the website, you are buying the rim. I say go for it...and if you don't like them, it was only a $400 investment...sell them and get another set..can't loose much.

Phillipines, if they are made there, we could get them transported cheap. I should have some contacts over there. If we could find out if they're actually made in phillipines, that would be a good lead. We need proof. If they are made there, we could get them mad cheap direct from manufacturer.

They are made in the Phillipines..but at $400 a set, why worry about trying to import them? You can't even buy any chrome hammers for that cheep.

correct me if i'm wrong but arent those rims on the black Ex spoons? the slipstreams are a little shinier, no? either way the car/rims look tight. im starting to like the "strictly business" look. very menacing. i might go w/ the black slipstreams or the gunmetals.anyone have pcs of the gunmetals?

I got some Rota Slipstreams on my 98 Civic Coupe I love them. I had gunmetal rims before these rims and these are by far my favorite rims that I have had yet. Why pay for some Spoons or Desmonds when you can have the same thing basically. You can get the whole set of rims for what one of the real deals cost and they arent heavy either. But if you have the money to get a real set of them go ahead doesnt make any difference to me. I would much rather put the money in the engine or suspension mainly the engine.

I wish they would have had the slipstreams out when I bought my wheels, but they didnt. I got the Circuit 8's in gunmetal.. I love them.. They do scratch kinda easy but oh well you get what you payfor... Everything else about them is fine.

my favorite people are the ones that look down upon people for buying these rims, you know the rich ones that can afford to spend $2g's on rims and then look down upon and cut on people who like the slipstreams because they are a good deal...is 3lbs lighter on a wheel worth $300 to me? HELL NO! So until spoon wheels can be had for under $600 i'll stick to wanting the Rotas...or "spoofs" as i call them...maybe if i owned a $40,000 sports car i'd want some $2,000 rims, but i dont I have a Honda.

The gunmetals are kind of weird. When you first look at them from a distance, they look just black, but then again when you get up close they are actually the gun metal color. I like these better then the black. I wonder if they would look good on a green teg. like mine

Even if I had the money for REAL Mugen rims I would never spend that kinda on 'em. It's just ridiculous. I think the "Rota-haters" are just mad because they spent a whole lot more money on "the real thing" for minimal difference.

wow, those gunmetal rotas look gooooood. i think i have found my new wheel. and the price is right. bang for the buck, the rotas can't be beat. sure they are knock-offs, but if i had a million dollars, and you gave me the choice:

1) $1600 Spoons/ Desmonds
2) $400 knock-offs that weigh more but are still lighter than 90% of all other wheels

i'd pick #2.

I agree with junglistgsr. People that hate on Rotas are mad cuz they were ripped off by paying what they did for their wheels. For the money, Rotas are a great buy. Sure, they are not the lightest or the strongest, but they are good enough for the $400!!!!!
