Re: Rota slipstream durability? (Captain_Kicker)
i think they are cast, not forged [unlike the expensive jdm]. that's why they are a cheap lightweight rim. but as long as u don't go curb hopping u should be fine.

they're a little weaker than the Enkei factory Honda wheels which are also cast. But still plenty strong for most purposes.

http://www.racebread.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=142 this wasnt concerning slips but it still a product of rota. dont be scared though, its just something that can happen with any manufacturer of anything.

Ohh damn, we just picked up a set of ADR GT6's for real cheap, maybe thats why the guy was selling them. I remember reading about the Rota Durability thread, they were saying it was due to oxidizing of the metal on the rim, or cracking, something like that.

from the reports of the corner worker in the rota durability thread, it seemed to only be rota attacks that were suffering from this problem.

Re: Rota slipstream durability? (SpoonSportsEH2)
I have not heard one bad thing about rotas, I am planning on getting some rota attacks in 15 inch bronze. I know people who auto-x on them frequently and I know alot of people who have done some pretty stupid stuff while running them on their car, I don't think one guys bad luck should make you guys paranoid about driving your car. Think about how many Rota wheels they have made and how popular they are... as with any wheel maker there is going to be a bad one here and there.
I do know for the guy with the wrx rota replaced the wheel and fixed all the damage to the guys car. So that right there makes me belive in them even more.
I give rota for making a lightweight inexpensive wheel that I can trust.

Re: Rota slipstream durability? (Sucka Free)
pretty tough..
about 3 months ago i stripped a wheel stud, decided to chop it off with a roto zip, took two ******* hours, and about 10 plates. had to cut into the rim..they were SS not spoon. been riding it with 3 lugs ever since no probs.

What do you expect from a wheel that cost that cheap.

exactly, thats why im asking what i should expect.

If you are worried about the Rota wheels that have broke, I believe they are isolated incidents that have happened on only the 5 lug pattern wheels. I think its only on the Rota Attacks and Subzeros as well. The slips are pretty stout and have much thicker spokes than the Attacks/Subzeros
