Re: Roger Foo (Big Carbon)
There's a long delay between the time when the race actually takes place and when its televised. Roger was actually awarded the Rookie of the Year title at Road Atlanta near the end of October (Right after Round 10 of the SVWC Touring Car race - which took place the day after Petit Le Mans). I was able to sneak into the hot pit during that race and watch Roger pull into pit lane afterwards. Although he only managed to finish in 15th or so place, I was amazed that he was able to keep pace with the much more expensive BMWs and ITRs.

>>I wonder how they let him race in that division b/c of the motorswap. Can anyone tell me?<<
I'm not exactly sure, but the World Touring Car Challenge rules are interesting. Basically, each car has it's own set of rules in order to keep a competitive playing field with lots of different makes and models represented. For example, the Realtime Acuras run a surprisingly stock engine because of the rules. The B16A guys like Roger Foo and Taz Harvey are allowed a lot more modification to the engine internals than the ITR's.
IMO, Roger's B16A Civic is probably ok because it IS a viable combination on the JDM. The EG hatchback has been manufactured with a B16A motor, but it was not imported into the U.S. Maybe that's how he was allowed to do it.

Re: Roger Foo (fsp31)

Re: Roger Foo (ek9t)
Yeah the rules are different for each car. Look at Pete Cunningham. They have tried everything to slow his car down when he added the Vortech Supercharger. Air restrictors, more weight, etc...
They try to even out the field as best as they can.

Re: Roger Foo (CivicSiRacer)
Hello All,
Just a quick what if question! What if I were to run a different manufacturer next season in World Challenge? Would I still have you guys as fans? I have been running Honda Products for the last 15 years and Honda is not really ready to support me at a moderate level.

Rog, tough question but, I think I speak for everyone when I say yes.....not everyone can take a EG and make it that competitive. However, there will be the little resentment for not staying honda. Hey got a question for ya.....what about a Subby RS.....you get the AWD traction and could be fairly competitive with the Beamers on torque!
Edit: Realized I didn't ask what platform you were planning on going to......everyone here pretty much likes the WRX's.

Re: Roger Foo (prospec)
Funny how Honda hates its most loyal fans.
Have you ever thought of asking the import community at large for sponsorship?
I'd readily give up 20 or 30 bucks to say "See that Honda Roger's got for 2002? I helped out that car together." Get my name listed on a website - something easy.
I was with John and Kyle in Portland, when you took the Blue Si to HIN.

Re: Roger Foo (Spade)
Dag that doesnt sound bad! I would love to pop in 30 bucks or more to say i helped Roger Foo plus to get a small spot somwhere that says High Octane Motor Lab! Its always nice to see people doing something to further the hondas on the racing scene weather it be drag or road racing. People in the import scene need to have more going on...so i believe you should ask people for the donations or set up some type of thing so that you can show the world "Whats really goin on!" But....if you were to go with another company we would still be your fans. Anyone Brave enough to take a civic hatch where you did Deserves props!!! Glad to see your post!!!
