Right turn signal's hittin VTEC! Whats the deal?!
Randomly, today in my 1993 coupe dx, my right turn signal blinks like its in vtec mode at double the normal rate. The click rate is double and the flash rate is doubt. And its ONLY the right turn signals.
Whats goin on here?

if its not the bulb...i guess you may have a bad ground on the right turn signal

Damnit. When I read this title I was expecting to read a thread about how your right turn signal was making VTEC engage. That would be priceless...

Actually, when a light begins to blink super fast like that it's usually an indication that another light on the circuit is burned out, not that light itself. Obviously that light is working fine if it's blinking - duh - and it's not like a bad bulb is going to pull twice the power at twice the VTEC speed.
Check your tails or headlamps (whichever you didn't replace) at all four corners and make sure everything else is blinking.

Yes. twice the vtec speed indeed.
The only one that doesnt blink is the rear right turn sig when i turn the right turn sig on. Front right does blink though. How would a bad ground suddently occur in the rear, and where should I check.

Um. What are you saying. Yes, my rear right signal does not blink and thats a problem, which is why im asking you all what is causing the problem. I need a cause, not an effect.

replace the right rear bulb!! unless by "it does not blink" you actually mean "it goes on solid"

Re: Right turn signal's hittin VTEC! Whats the deal?! (drumminforev)
omg, so you're saying that the right rear turn signal is currently not working.
the "cause": bulb is burnt out, the bottom of the bulb is not making full contact with the plug, you have a short somewhere that is causing the bulb to blow or not work.
the "effect": since the right rear blink light does not blink, it is causing the front right turn signal to blink faster because the 'blink' part in the blinker switch is getting more voltage than usual because it cannot distribute it's blink signal to 2 signals only one.
all this fuss over a stupid bulb.

I had the same problem on my last car. What I did was take out the bulb and cleaned the connectors with some compressed air. Worked after that. Never had a problem again after I cleaned it the connectors.

jesus, replace your fuking right rear turn signal bulb, not the one that blinks faster.
complaint-Turn signals blinking at twice vtec speed yo
cause- right rear turn signal bulb, filament open
correction- Replaced right rear turn signal bulb
this place is filling up with morons fast

it reminds me of something me and my friend were talking about in class, we want to hook up our electronics so when we hit vtec, the hazards go off and the horn bairs.
