Default rewiring gsr altenator plug in a 2000 si

I have a 2000 si and I am swapping in a 98 gsr motor. I am using my harness but the plug is different on the gsr altenator. does anybody know how to match the color on a si harness to a gsr plug cuz the wire colors are different.

I will double check but I don't think they are. can I just put the plugs side by side and wire them up the way look on the si plug?

well I wired the plug. I dunno if I did it right I just match the wires from the si plug by putting them in the same location in the gsr plug. hope it works.

That probably isn't the greatest idea. Look at a wiring diagram and make sure everything is right.

Actually, that is right. You have 2 plugs, 8 pin and 2 pin, and then 1 plug with 10 pins but only 9 leads, no? Match them color for color and you will have an extra ground that is no longer necessary. You should be set.
