I took mine to 9 once. Nothing really happened. I destroyed my tranny, but that's about it.

Yeh very nice isn't I even said "aint". Well I was in a hurry, but realistically it probaly wont harm the engine, I myself and other loacl guys I know rev B18's and B16's like that with no more than average long-term wear. I have seen and heard of just as many stock b16'a blowing up at 8200 as I have at 9K. My friend just got rid of his "bone-stock" b20/vtec car, Him, I and others revved it too 8.5K with no damage for 15K miles, if it's gonna break it'll break, if not...

lets say you arent gonna damage the motor
WHY are you revving that high?
have you upgraded the cams/valvetrain?
its pointless to go much higher than the stock revlimit because it dosent make power unless you have dont head upgrades.

I guess as long as you don't downshifted from over 100mph in 5th gear down to 2nd ,like this guy did.
He took pictures of his motor after

actually two friends made the same mistake.
one - busted his clutch into a million pieces.
another one - bent his valves.

i was in 3rd gear at redline and tried to go into 4th but it went into second..loudest noise i have ever heard. the tach needle on the gauges was below 10 and the needle on the auto meter was bouncing off the metal piece where you chage your settings...motor ran fine after that..did a compression check at school and it was still good...i for sure thought i fucked something up..BTW that was in my moms R

I took my old d16z6 to 8200-8400 like 10 times a day for 60,000 miles. Stock bottom end, stock head with only i/h/e, gude cam, and ecu.

My friends b20/vtec/turbo pulls hard alll the way to 9200rpms...add 10psi (or more) of boost on that and its like (HOLY $#@$$ HOLD ON) haha soooo awesome. Riding in the car ur like....daammnn shiiifftttt wwhoooaaaaa hooollddd on!! hahah -- its cool after a hard pull like that looking at the apex afc which shows a peak of like 9158rpms or something crazy like that.
