Reverse lights don't work/what's this wire (with pictures)
Hi,
My reverse lights don't work. I searched and I think it may be the switch on the tranny. Where is it?
Also what's this? I bought the car off here so I don't know what was done to it.
This wire is cut and taped off.
Thanks

Yup. Just strip the wires, twist together each pair, make sure it lights, solder it up, and wrap that sucker up tight. If it doesn't light for whatever reason, flip the wires. But it looks like they're both green/black so you probably shouldn't have to do that.
Reminds me of a time my mom took her car into the shop to have some work done. Got it back and the brake lights weren't working. Bastards clipped the brake light wires, in a sad attempt to get more business. A little solder & electrical tape later she was back on the road, with no intention of going back to that place ever again.

Wow, I don't know how I missed that.
Thanks a lot guys.
Sucks. Cause I thought it was the ghetto wiring for the taillights, so I bought 2000 tails with new harness to replace them. At least my car looks a bit better now.

If you buy a new reverse light switch you wont have to splice/solder.
But yea, someone cut the wires going from the switch to connector, as everyone else has stated.
