Default Rev-limiter changes on its own

ok heres the deal, i had an MSD 6al with an MSD coil and msd distributor cap on the car.

its started this problem a few weeks ago, it will pull fine to 7,000 rpm(d16y7 engine) for a few runs then it will change and only run to 6,200.

so today i removed the msd all together, went back to stock ignition.

Still doing the same problem, i got one run to 7,000 and then it started after that.

the car is fully warm, not cold at all, sometimes ill get a few runs to 7,000 after about an hour of driving. then back to 6,200

so im stumped....im trying to figure it out, so i need suggestions.....i checked wiring near the distributor many times, no problems, i changed my distributor timing many times from below stock(8 degrees) to stock(12 degrees) to above stock (15 degrees)

history on the motor, Its brand new rebuilt with all the goodies, it shouldnt be having a problem with running that high because everything has been balanced and all the vavletrain has been replaced.

but im guessing the ecu is changin the redline either because of to much timing, or something a sensor is picking up......

my engine does not have a knock sensor because its not vtec soo i ruled that out.

any help will be greatly appriciated
