Reupholstering seats
I scored a set of DA bucket seats for 20 bucks. The drivers side back support
has the normal where and tear. I priced it out to reupholster and it came out to $280 per seat w/o headrests. Hell no.
I'm pretty handy when it comes to sewing (alot of grandmas to teach). From what I found on google, you just take apart the seat skins, make a pattern, sew them together, add padding where necessary, and smooth out wrinkles with heat gun during replacement. Correct me if I'm wrong. Any tips would help (ie. what kind of thread, material, stitching techniques....). I'm trying to put together a DIY for reupholstering seats.
Post some pictures of your reupholstered seat(s). And if you do post, please state if you did it yourself. TIA

Re: Reupholstering seats (EKFerioHawaii)
That's exactly how to reupholster your seats. I had mine done cause it was 300 for my rear seats or 350 for front seat or 550 for both. I would check other places, if not try it yourself. I can take pics of my rear seats tonight.

Re: Reupholstering seats (SilverCivic2k)
That would be great if you take some pics. How was the fitment of the fabric/vinyl?

it all depends on the skins / the shops work... if you do them yourself then it's upto how good you sew and how much patience you have for evening out the wrinkles...
I was going to do this as well however found out I'd have to mod the rails on the seats I got... so I sold'em.
good luck.
