replacing radiator as a preventative maintanence.
Working on my friends car that lives 4 hours from me. She never has anybody works on her car, and her civic has roughly 10700 miles on the stock radiator. Would you guys think its stupid to replace the stock radiator with an aftermarket one as a preventative measure. The stock radiator are easily known to go bad at about 100k miles. The reason why I want to do this is that I would hate for her car to break down 4 hours from home.

with only 10700 miles on the car yes i think that would be pretty stupid to replace it that earily in its life. are you sure you didnt mean 107000miles? if anything just to a coolant flush and call it a day but if the miles are as you stated your wasting your time and money by changing it

sometimes the statment "if it isnt broke dont fix it" works wonders, but if its all nasty and corroded and green then yeah go for it you can get a new one for about 100 bucks might even cool better but if it looks fine i'd leave it

Honda OEM Timing belts and water pumps should be replaced at 90k max. If thats what your question is.

I have 160K miles on my stock rad, and it still looks brand new.... on the outside. Replace the thermostat, and flush/fill the coolant at most.
