Default replacing knock sensor on a b16

I was trying to rewire my o2 sensor connector and pulled on the harness to hard to reach the wires and broke the plastic off the knock sensor on my b16. .. it started giving me the code so i just popped it back in and the light went away. ... i already bought a new, my question is. ..is there a way to remove it with out having to take off the whole manifold or is that a must???? Anyone have any crazy simpler ways of doing it???? thanks in advance.

Its possible, you need a socket that will fit and you need to lay under the car as if you were changing the oil filter. You might have to remove the oil filter and unlug the couple plugs around there and get the wires out of the way

Yep, Id get the car off the ground on jack stands or a lift if possible. Get the socket and ratchet on the knock sensor with an extension and you should be able to get it off from underneath, Do it when the car is warm too. NOT HOT.

I use an open end wrench. I wasn't able to use a socket with the manifold still attached.
